Rise Up Student Ministry

THIS YEAR AT RISE UP

Rise Up gathers the first and third Wednesday of every month, 7:00 to 8:30 PM, at Brunner Grounds, 1224 West Street in Genoa. Grades 6 through 12. Free for every student, always.

WHAT WE'RE TEACHING

This year we're walking through Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris, one chapter per gathering, across the entire school year. Here's the whole idea, and it's the thing we most want students to hear. There is a difference between doing hard things for God and doing hard things with God. One runs on willpower, and willpower runs out. The other runs on relationship, and relationship doesn't. We are not trying to raise students who achieve. We are trying to raise students who follow.

The book is optional and encouraged for families who want to go deeper between gatherings. It runs about ten dollars on Amazon or through a local bookstore. The companion study guide is free.

WHAT A NIGHT LOOKS LIKE

Doors open with time in the gym. We come together for teaching. Students spend the back half in small groups where they are known by name. We finish by 8:30.

HOW WE KEEP STUDENTS SAFE

Every adult serving at Rise Up is background checked through Ministry Defenders and safety trained. Two adults are present in every space, indoors and out, and we hold a 1:8 adult to student ratio at every gathering. Your student is known by name, and they are never unsupervised.

REGISTERING YOUR STUDENT

Students register once and that's it for the year. There is no cost and no commitment. Registration is how we send you the recap email after each gathering, plan small group sizes, and reach you directly if we ever need to.

WHERE WE NEED YOU MOST

The student response this year has been God moving, and it has moved faster than we planned for. Serving 80 registered students the way we want to serve them means eight to ten adults at every gathering and two leaders in every small group, and we are building toward a man and a woman leading every grade. Small group leaders are our greatest need this year by a wide margin. You do not need experience or a ministry background. We train you, we walk with you, and you receive the discussion questions and everything else you need before you ever walk in the room. It is two Wednesdays a month.

SUPPORTING RISE UP

Rise Up is free for every student and always will be, and it is currently run entirely by volunteers with no one paid. One-time gifts got us off the ground and covered launch costs like insurance, background checks, and safety training. Monthly giving is what turns a strong launch into a ministry that lasts. It feeds students at every gathering and opens the door to serving projects, retreats, and opportunities beyond Wednesday nights. Ten, twenty-five, fifty, or a hundred dollars a month goes a long way toward serving over 80 students and growing, and a handful of founding families already give monthly. We would love for you to join them.

Rise Up is not yet a registered 501(c)(3), and gifts are not currently tax-deductible. Our goal is to file by January 2027.
