WHAT WE BELIEVE
Rise Up Student Ministries is rooted in historic, biblical Christianity. We believe the following foundational truths:
THE TRIUNE GOD
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence and being. This triune God created all things, sustains all things, and governs all things (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3).
JESUS CHRIST, THE SON
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God. He will come again to judge the living and the dead (John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is equal in being with the Father and the Son. He comforts believers, guides them into all truth, and empowers them to live for Christ (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-23).
THE CHURCH
We believe in the holy Christian church - the communion of all true believers in Jesus Christ. We believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting (1 Corinthians 15:42-44; Revelation 21:1-4).
THE HOLY BIBLE
We believe the Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the inspired Word of God. It is the only true guide to salvation and the rule for faith and life. Every Christian is called to read, believe, and obey Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105).
SALVATION
We believe that all people have fallen into sin through Adam, but redemption is available through Jesus Christ. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus alone - not by works. True faith includes repentance from sin, forgiveness through Christ, and a life of following Him (Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 3:19; Romans 10:9-10).
THE GOSPEL MESSAGE
We believe the message of the gospel - the fall of humanity in Adam and redemption through Jesus Christ - must be proclaimed to all people (Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 1:16).
CHRISTIAN PRACTICES
We practice baptism and communion (the Lord's Supper) as commanded by Christ. While we respect different understandings among Christians regarding the mode and timing of these practices, at Rise Up we:
Encourage students who have trusted Christ to be baptized as a public declaration of faith
Celebrate communion periodically as a remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice
Partner with families and local churches in these important milestones
We do not administer baptism or communion independently but work alongside families and their home churches in these practices.
OUR COMMITMENT
We are committed to teaching the Bible faithfully, pointing students to Jesus, and partnering with families and local churches to raise up the next generation of Christ-followers.
